06Frequently asked questions
Stock sections or extrude-to-order?
Common sections move as stock; anything else is extruded to your drawing. Dimensions and quantity in the RFQ tell us which shelf — or which press — your order comes from, and the quote says so.
Best alloy for parts we'll machine ourselves?
6061 and 6082 cut cleanly and hold strength; 6060 and 6063 suit lighter, form-heavy work. If you tell us the part instead of just the bar, the recommendation covers temper too.
Cut-to-length with a straightness spec — possible?
Routine. State the acceptance criterion — straightness per metre, end-cut squareness, cosmetic class — and it is quoted and tested as written, not interpreted later.
What's the minimum quantity?
It varies by section and alloy, so we would rather price your actual numbers than publish a figure that misleads. Sizes plus quantities gets you a real minimum by return.
